Dr Katie Morrisroe is a Melbourne trained rheumatologist who joined Rheumatology ACT in June 2020. Dr Morrisroe completed her medical degree at Monash University, graduating in 2008 with Class I Honours. She completed her specialist rheumatology fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Pursuing research alongside clinical medicine and patient care, Dr Morrisroe completed a PhD through the University of Melbourne with specific focus on connective tissue diseases, specifically systemic sclerosis (scleroderma). Dr Morrisroe was a rheumatologist at St Vincent’s Hospital where she was actively involved in specialist clinics. She is working part-time as a rheumatology staff specialist at Canberra hospital.
She is widely published, and has presented her research findings at national and international conferences. She continues to undertake research with fellow Australian rheumatologists. Dr Morrisroe enjoys all aspects of rheumatology, with a particular interest in inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue disease.
