Dr Peta Pentony completed an undergraduate double degree in Psychology and Science, followed by an Honours degree in Neuroscience at the Australian National University. Dr Pentony then completed her medical degree at the Australian National University and trained as a junior doctor at both Canberra and Calvary Hospitals. She completed her rheumatology fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Mid North Coast Arthritis Clinic, Coffs Harbour, and The Canberra Hospital. Dr Pentony then moved to the United Kingdom and completed a research fellowship in rheumatoid arthritis at the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Dr Pentony was delighted to return to Canberra in March 2018 to join Rheumatology ACT. Dr Pentony is also a staff specialist in rheumatology and deputy director of prevocational education and training at The Canberra Hospital.
Her special interests include inflammatory arthritis, pre-clinical disease, and connective tissue disease. Dr Pentony enjoys developing relationships with patients to achieve mutual goals for improved clinical outcomes.
Dr Pentony offers Telehealth appointments on Monday evenings for appropriate follow up patients.
