Dr Ted Tsai graduated with a combined MB BS/B Sci(Med) and Sociology degree from the University of NSW in 2006 with Class I Honours. He completed his specialist rheumatology fellowship in Canberra and Sydney hospitals.

He is a part-time Senior Staff Specialist at Canberra hospital, where he is actively involved in specialised clinics, medical research, and teaching of ANU medical students and specialist trainees as an ANU Senior Clinical Lecturer. Dr Ted Tsai was a conjoint associate lecturer at the UNSW medical school, and a clinical tutor at Notre Dame university. He is fluent in Mandarin.

He is keen to empower patients through patient education. He has been working with GPs in regional areas to provide telehealth specialist consultations since 2014.
